As a new concept here on the blog; we want to share with you where to go and what to do in the Lisbon region. We call it; “We have tested for you … ”.
This time, we tested “Cooking and Nature” for you.
An hour north of Lisbon in Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Candeeiros, you will find the small village of Alvados. In this village, an entrepreneurial Portuguese couple has decided to start their life-project; a hotel with activities and experiences related to the nature, the food and the traditions of this area.
Rui and Rita Anastácio have created a unique place and demonstrated it by winning the “revelation of the year 2013” in the Portuguese national newspaper, Expresso.
In this emotional hotel as they call it themselves, you can enjoy the great rooms, read books that are at our disposal, use provided bikes, go hiking … or learn how to make Portuguese food and be a star in the kitchen.
The ingredients are cut and prepared; it is up to you to fry, mix and season to the best of your knowledge. The kitchen is beautiful and has lots of space to do this with loved ones. Around, you will find ginger, spices, herbs you can use in your dishes. The menu cards and the assisting chef can guide you through the process, if needed.
Alvados is everything the body and mind needs to disconnect from the sometimes demanding and hectic reality. A fantastic stay.
